If you don't have space for a vegetable garden, consider raising fresh, nutritious, homegrown vegetables in containers. A windowsill, patio, balcony, or doorstep can provide sufficient space for a productive container garden. Problems with soil-borne diseases, nematodes, or poor soil can also be overcome by switching to container gardening. |

You need either a big water or milk carafe cap, or even a recycled picnic plate. Put kitchen paper on top of it or watered paper tissues. You will also need cress seeds, mustard, wheat, rye or barley. |

Wouldn't it be nice to grow a real watermelon! This is my prize - not. Oh well.... Only 2 3/4 inches in diameter and 6.5 oz in weight. I was hoping it would get bigger, but this week I noticed it made a hollow sounding "thump" when I thumbed it. Ripe! Sure enough, its was nice and red inside. Sweet and cute as could be. Just way way too small. |

Make a list of vegetables and fruits to include in your depression garden. Choose vegetables that provide a good amount of nutrition and bulk. I recommend potatoes, onions, tomatoes, carrots, cabbage, lettuce and beans. |
